Star of the Day and work experience students

The Star of the Day (given out when the teachers can remember) is for sticking to the promise we make in circle/registration time – ‘to care and to share/ to walk and not to run (inside)/ and to talk (not shout) and have fun’ – and/or a celebration of first time achievements such as, climbing on the monkey frame, sitting on the toilet, writing their name, sitting and listening, following the routine …

Occasionally we have a student come in for work experience. It’s not only a great opportunity for the student to get first hand experience of a possible future career, but also the children gravitate to a friendly face and someone nearer their age!
